On the heels of the Empress, let’s meet the Emperor! The Emperor is enjoying his time in the spotlight in 2020, for better or worse. For more information, check out more in my earlier post, To 2020 and Beyond.
Additionally, if you haven’t yet, I encourage you to read the below linked introductions to this topic prior to reading the explanation of each card. (Bonus: this will also help you figure out which pattern of destiny and life lesson posts are most relevant for you!)
For more context on when or why I like using the Pattern of Destiny personality (aka "birthday") card approach, check out the first Pattern of Destiny: The Magician post.
Let’s continue, shall we?
The Emperor is the fourth card that the Fool meets on his journey. Standard disclaimer that I won’t go into too much detail about what the Emperor card represents or its associations in this post, but in essence this card is the card of the projective material.
If your Pattern of Destiny number is 4, 13 or 22, then you have the Emperor as your personality (aka soul) card. What does that mean?
Father figures, bosses or “go-to” people
Concerned with the big picture
Able to set a solid foundation and execute a vision
Eager to take care of their own
“Maters, not daters” (like the Empress)
The Shadow: When out of balance, Emperors are challenged by…
Imposing boundaries or having no qualms with cutting people out of their world
May be a bit dictatorial or have “power trips”
Individuals whose pattern of destiny is the number 4 (aka "straight 4s"), as opposed to 13s or 22s, have the Emperor as both their personality and life lesson card. That is to say that these individuals may be more challenged by both the strengths and weaknesses of the Emperor personality card than their 13 or 22 counterparts. For straight 4s, Death (13) and the Fool (22) are shadow cards that still impact them subtly but are not their prime challenge or lesson in life.
Fours are also more significant in readings for 4, 13 and 22 Emperors as they share the same base number, 4.
Will Smith – Emperor
Oprah Winfrey – Foolish Emperor
Bill Gates – Foolish Emperor
Donald Trump – Foolish Emperor
Keanu Reeves – Foolish Emperor
Bryan Stevenson – Foolish Emperor
I hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about the Emperor personality. Look for more entries in this series in the future.
In peace & love,
