As we begin a new year and season of life, we say goodbye to the one that came before it. This is the lesson which the Death card teaches. Death is a part of the Emperor tarot constellation, that of “Life Force and Realization of Power” per Mary Greer. Death is life’s first promise to us and is a natural part of our evolution and journey.
If your pattern of destiny adds up to 13, then you are a Death Emperor. 13 indicates that your life lesson is Death, which we will discuss momentarily. When you reduce to a single digit (13 = 1+ 3= 4), you are left with 4 or the Emperor as your personality card. Straight “4” or “22” Emperors may feel the effects of the Death card, but it is a “shadow” or “hidden factor” card for them.
Those whose pattern adds up to 13, or Death Emperors, are more likely than their other Emperor counterparts to deal with the major themes of closure and resurrection. Death is a card that is feared by many and, in fact, many cite this as the reason for not getting a tarot reading at all. But the Death card at its core is far more metaphorical than physical. It is about those endings which bring transformation, rebirth and, most importantly, new life.
If you have Death as your life lesson, you likely….
Are not afraid to go deep and explore the heavier topics of life
Endings and new beginnings feature prominently in your life or in your immediate surroundings
You may have a penchant to relocate or “start over” frequently in your life
Are gifted with the resilience and ability to rebuild your “empire”
Similarly, if Death is your personal card of the year based on your tarotscope from one birthday to the next, then you may find yourself temporarily under its influence.
I hope this helps and you learned a bit more about Death as a life lesson.
In peace & love
