How to Calculate Your Pattern of Destiny

Updated: Sep 16

Hi, there! Thanks for stopping by to read my latest post.

If you haven't yet had a chance to read my earlier post, or just need a refresher on tarotscopes, I strongly recommend you first see the previous blog post on "How to Calculate Tarotscopes."

I'll wait here while you catch up.

All, set? Great! Let's begin....

Now let’s apply this concept to an individual’s date of birth to determine what their individual pattern of destiny is. The pattern of destiny contains the life lesson(s) and soul pattern an individual possesses based on their date of birth.

  • A life lesson is the number between 1 and 22 which is obtained when first reducing the calculation of the tarotscope for a particular date. It is a reoccurring pattern that will emerge consistently over the course of an individual’s life and which they must learn to understand or overcome.

  • A soul pattern is the single digit reduction calculated from the tarotscope on their date of birth. This number represents who a person is at their core. There are 9 possible soul patterns, which correspond with numbers 1 through 9 of the major arcana in the tarot.

Note: One’s life lesson can be the same as one’s soul pattern; this usually means that the individual’s life lesson relates to balancing the shadow aspect of one’s soul pattern card. Using the example in the previous section, someone born on January 1, 2021 would have Strength as both their life lesson and soul pattern.

To demonstrate this concept, let’s use the birthdate of former U.S. President Abraham Lincoln, which is February 12, 1809.

Month: 2

Day: 12

+Year: 1809

1823

Now let’s add each digit together to obtain a number between 1 and 22.

1 + 8 + 2 + 3 = 14

The number 14 corresponds with Temperance in the tarot. This is President Lincoln’s life lesson. We can also reduce this number one more time to obtain a single digit.

1 + 4 = 5

The number 5 corresponds with the Hierophant in the tarot. This is President Lincoln’s soul pattern.

However, there is one pattern that can be reduced multiple times to generate two life lessons and one soul pattern. Let’s use Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday as an example, which is January 15, 1929.

Month: 1

Day: 15

+Year: 1929

1945

Now, let’s add each digit together to obtain a number between 1 and 22.

1 + 9 + 4 + 5 = 19

The number 19 corresponds to the Sun in the tarot. However, 19 is a unique number in that it can also be further reduced to produce two additional tarot cards.

1 + 9 = 10

The number 10 corresponds with the Wheel of Fortune card in the tarot. Ten can be further reduced to a single digit.

1 + 0 = 1

The number 1 corresponds with the Magician card in the tarot.

So Martin Luther King Jr. is a Magician soul personality with the life lesson of the Sun as well as the Wheel of Fortune.

Now that we understand how to calculate our personal pattern of destiny, we can begin to see how larger patterns and energies in the world can impact us.
