Where will your river lead? What bold life story are you ready to tell?
I thought I would do one more 2021 large picture overview for the year ahead highlighting some key transits. I’ve talked at length about what the Hierophant means in respect to 2021, but let’s take a closer look at key transits this year and what this new focus on air portends.
Air is about collaboration, connection, creation and, yes, community. In the tarot, the element is represented through the swords suit. Air is our thought, word and deed. And, like the wind, you cannot see ideas, but they can cause seismic shifts and move mountains. In addition, the swords suit pierces to the heart of a matter, adding clarity and truth to the mix.
The signature astrological event I would like to preview today is that of the Saturn-Uranus square. This year, Saturn (The World) will be in Aquarius (The Star) and forming a tight square with Uranus (The Fool) in Taurus (The Hierophant) at three separate points throughout the year. These three activations will occur between the 7th and 13th degrees of these two signs. The dates are:
Feb 17 at 7 degrees
June 14 at 13 degrees
Dec 24 at 11 degrees
Saturn is the planet of status quo and will be in Aquarius, the sign of innovation and change. Similarly, Uranus, the planet of change and innovation will be in Taurus, the sign of status quo. Mars (The Tower) will further activate this unique tension when it joins the conversation between these two planets by means of a conjunction (January 20) and at other points throughout the year.
There is a collective push to re-evaluate our community and create a new, better status quo. But there will be resistance, that much is assured. On a personal level, there is a bold undercurrent that we can harness to break free of old patterns or situations that no longer serve us or to adopt new habits or make freeing choices. I encourage you to check your natal chart to find out if you have any planets or important placements in the 7-13 degrees of Aquarius or Taurus (or any of the fixed signs, really). Looking at the corresponding house(s) will give you an idea of what topics may be activated for you when this energy hits. Pay additional attention to any swords you may be getting with more frequency during this air era - they may provide insights on how to act or what to cut or sever.
I would like to leave you now with the Hopi Elders Prophecy, which was recently shared by Rick Levine and I think captures the spirit of the Hierophant and this new Jupiter/Saturn air cycle.
You have been telling people that this is the Eleventh Hour, now you must go back and tell the people that this is the Hour. And there are things to be considered…
Where are you living? What are you doing? What are your relationships? Are you in right relation? Where is your water?
Know your garden. It is time to speak your truth. Create your community. Be good to each other. And do not look outside yourself for your leader.
Then he clasped his hands together, smiled, and said, “This could be a good time! There is a river flowing now very fast. It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid. They will try to hold on to the shore. They will feel they are being torn apart and will suffer greatly. Know the river has its destination. The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off into the middle of the river, keep our eyes open, and our heads above the water.
And I say, see who is in there with you and celebrate. At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, least of all ourselves. For the moment that we do, our spiritual growth and journey come to a halt.
The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word ’struggle’ from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.
